Lug Bolts & Lug Bolt Locks

Lug bolts combine the wheel bolt, or lug stud, and the lug nut in a single component. Wheel lug bolts are found mainly on European cars such as Mercedes Benz and Volkswagens. Wheel lug bolts are most commonly found on older Volkswagen cars with the old “wide five” wheels with five lug bolts. However, you can also find wheel lug bolts on vehicles such as Audi, Porsche, and Saab. Wheel lug bolts, or lug nut bolts, come in a variety of lengths and colors. For those with polished wheels, polished chrome lug nut bolts will be what you want. These lug nut bolts will accentuate the high polish of your wheels. Some wheels are thicker than others. For this reason, Brandsport carries a variety of wheel lug bolts with added depth. On this type of wheel bolt, not only is the threaded portion longer, but there is a space between the cup that contacts the wheel and the bolt head portion of the wheel bolt.

You’ll find wheel lug bolts with both ball seats and cone seats. This is important because not every wheel has the same type of lug stud seat. This is especially true with aftermarket wheels. The wrong kind of seat on your lug stud can cause it to not seat properly and not be able to be properly torqued. Improper torque on the lug stud can cause the wheel t come lose and fall off the vehicle. This can be a very dangerous occurrence, especially when traveling at speed.
