Plastikote Zinc Rich cold galvanizing primer is designed to give the best protection against corrosion on bare metal surfaces. When assembling parts, it is possible to prime individual components after welding, but the primer rarely penetrates all areas. This non-sanding zinc primer is also a weld-thru primer, which can be applied before parts are mated to be welded together, while eliminating the corrosion caused by moisture wicking into the gaps. A weld-thru primer will prevent any rust from starting and ruining the finish down the road. After sufficient surface preparation Plastikote Zinc Primer can also be applied directly to existing rust to seal it, which then becomes an excellent base coat for any Plastikote automotive top coat. This cold galvanizing primer can also be used on its own to treat exposed bare metal to prevent corrosion, or to seal in existing corrosion and prevent it from spreading.
