If you're upgrading your steel wheels to alloy wheels, then you're likely going to need a set of new 14mm lug nuts. Some are under the false impression that the stock 14mm x 1.5 lug nuts for steelies will work for the alloy wheels, but the fact of the matter is, the seating faces of 14mm x 1.5 lug nuts for steel wheels are different. Using the wrong 14 x 1.5 lug nuts on your new aluminum wheels will not only damage your new wheels, but could become seized and will have to be broken off, requiring not only a new 14mm x 1.5 lug nut, but possibly a new stud and wheel.

Choosing the proper set of lug nuts for your vehicle is important, and Brandsport offers a selection of 14mm x 1.5 lug nuts that are matched to your wheel and vehicle. The wrong type of 14 x 1.5 lug nuts are possibly unsafe, as they do not clamp properly, so if you have any questions, call or email us to be sure you are getting the right 14 x 1.5 lug nuts. We also offer other wheel accessories, in addition to lug nuts, like lug nut locks, which protect your new wheels from thieves.

Why not consider a new set of wheel tools matched perfectly to your new 14 x 1.5 lug nuts? New tools will keep your new lug nuts from getting rounded off and avoid rust. Consider also a new torque wrench, to properly tighten your new nuts, keeping your alloy wheels on your truck, where they belong! Brandsport's tire tools, matched to your 14mm x 1.5 lug nuts, can be stored in the factory tool storage box and serve as a perfect replacement for factory tools, for removing and replacing the 14mm x 1.5 lug nuts on your truck.

What's the proper way to install a wheel? It's actually very easy with Brandsport's tool set and a set of new 14 x 1.5 lug nuts. First, with the vehicle secured, parking brake locked and wheels chocked, use the lug nut wrench to break loose the lug nuts. Then, jack up the wheel until it is completely off the ground and remove the lug nuts and wheel. Install the new wheel with a spacer or hub centering ring if necessary, and put on your new 14mm x 1.5 lug nuts by hand only, until the wheel barely moves. Lower the jack until the wheel contacts the ground and then use the torque wrench to tighten the lug nuts in a star pattern in at least two passes. The proper torque specification your 14mm 1.5 lug nuts can be found in your owner's manual.
